Memorializing The Victims
Few if anyone in our society is unaware of the opioid crisis that has been impacting our country for over a decade. With headline news related to opioid addiction and the pandemic incidence of deadly overdoses dominating the news media, America is truly confronting a genuine ‘Public Health Emergency’ unlike anything previously encountered.
Seldom realized, however, are the many family members and friends who are devastated by the loss of a loved one to an opioid overdose; addiction is truly a merciless disease that afflicts people of all age, races, sexes, creeds, and colors…..and it’s the families and friends who are often left to suffer the heartache of what many might consider, needless and avoidable, deaths.
Although there are many conversations arising across America regarding the opioid crisis, there remains a ‘social stigma’ associated with opioid addiction and drug-related deaths that must be vanquished if a viable strategy to combating this unfortunate disease is ever to be realized.
Families confronted with the death of a loved one from opioid abuse often experience complicated grief when the amazing life of the deceased is overshadowed by their journey with addiction, or the facts surrounding the death, especially if the death is a suicide, homicide, or traumatic accident related to the addiction.
At Final Tributes, we understand the importance of an amazing memorial/funeral service, and that people should be remembered for the life which they lived, and NOT the Cause and Manner or Circumstances of their death. Our funeral and memorial services are developed and officiated with absolute appreciation for the importance of always bringing dignity to the departed, and compassionate inspiration to grieving families and friends.
